17 Crash, band from Tuscany, issues in the marked their third studio album Through Hell and Back, a party like sleaze-rock work, energetic and with an excellent production like I haven’t heard since a long time in Italy where we can count on one hand such valuable bands able to recreate the pure spirit of the ‘80.
The whole music combo is in a perfect shape, and it remains in great evidence the performance of the singer Ros Crash, teleported here directly from the golden age of the genre. Band begins hard with FACE TO FACE and BE A MAN where two charming refrains project us in a dirty, angry but fascinating Los Angeles. CHANGE YOUR WAY introduces a slower but constant rhythm, well harmonized with the amazing guitars by Wildcat and Black Dog. Album’s title track is a powerful street metal hymn where Ros’ voice strikes hard and the rhythmic duo by Maxxx and Phil Hill takes no prisoners. Following song BITE THE FREEDOM it’s a precious jewel perfect for furious headbanging in some of its parts alternated with another really inspired refrain and with a breath-taking guitar solo. DON’T SURRENDER is the intense and touching ballad of THAB while HEROES and PRAY YOUR GOD are bringing back to faster territories again with fully remarkable refrains. FIRST DAY IN HEAVEN and VOICE IN THE NIGHT close this amazing opera in a way worth of the great rockstars of the past.
An astonishing and positively impressing performance for 17 Crash. I would easily say that the genre’s higher-end bands from the Great North have found a respectable and tough rival coming from Italy for the European supremacy of the glam-sleaze-hair metal.
WELL DONE GUYS!!
