The first EP by Death metallers Ancient Settlers, band created by former Haboryn Rex Chiesa (guitar) and Hermán Riera (drums), by former Aesthesis Rene González (Keyboards & Synth) and by Emmy Reyes (bass) and Antony Hämäläinen on vocals ( Meridian Dawn, former Nightrage & Armageddon), is a concentrate of innovative and modern Melodic Death Metal that, with regard to the lyrics, finds inspiration in the recent tragedies that have hit our land, trying however to encourage us to do something to solve them and not make them happen again.
The suggestive, instrumental, and atmospheric intro PRELUDE TO THE FALL leads the way to the splendid A MONUMENT RESTORED where Antony's voice is very incisive among various rhythm changes, guitarwork is really interesting same as the work of the rhythm section resulting in a Death Metal without frills. DIE AROUND ME settles on a particularly inspired Death/Thrash where the band plays in a very harmonious way, while the final DIAMOND EYES is the most varied piece where the initial acoustic guitar arpeggio then develops into a typically European-style Death melody (very captivating), in the track there are more typical Metal as well as Thrash/Death sections which show the good skills of the components but in general the song is very pleasant and the background Melodic Death metal particularly inspired.
With this EP, Ancient Settlers have shown all their qualities that will surely be able to exhibit in the future in a genre that perhaps needs them too. We look forward to the first full length. Great job guys!

Il primo EP dei Death metallers Ancient Settlers, band composta dagli ex Haboryn Rex Chiesa (chitarra) e Hermán Riera (batteria), dall’ex Aesthesis Rene González (Keyboards & Synth) e da Emmy Reyes (basso) e Antony Hämäläinen alla voce (Meridian Dawn, ex Nightrage & Armageddon), è un concentrato di Melodic Death Metal innovativo e moderno che riguardo ai testi trova ispirazione nelle recenti tragedie che hanno colpito la nostra terra cercando però di incoraggiarci a far qualcosa per risolverle e non farle riaccadere.
L’intro suggestiva, strumentale e atmosferica PRELUDE TO THE FALL fa da apripista alla splendida A MONUMENT RESTORED dove la voce di Antony risulta molto incisiva tra diversi cambi di ritmo, come interessante il lavoro alla chitarra e preciso quello della sezione ritmica in un Death Metal senza fronzoli. DIE AROUND ME si assesta su un Death/Thrash particolarmente ispirato dove la band suona in maniera molto affiatata, mentre la conclusiva DIAMOND EYES è il pezzo più vario dove l’arpeggio di chitarra acustica iniziale si sviluppa poi in una melodia tipicamente Death di stampo europeo (molto accattivante), nella traccia sono presenti parti più tipicamente metal oltre che Thrash/Death che mostrano il sicuro talento dei componenti ma in generale il brano è molto piacevole ed il Melodic Death metal di fondo particolarmente ispirato.
Gli Ancient Settlers con questo EP hanno messo in mostra tutte le loro qualità che potranno sicuramente esibire nel futuro in un genere che forse ha bisogno anche di loro. Attendiamo con ansia il primo full length. Grande lavoro ragazzi!
