Somos la Noche, debut full-length by Argentinian Inferous is a real Doom/Stoner bomb! Spanish language used in the vocals is perfectly matched to the dark, heavy, and oppressive sound proposed by band from Rosario that surprises for its technical ability and inspiration. The catacomb like voice of Matias Vodas (also on bass) goes well with the sulphurous sound built by Belisario Gronda on guitars and Seba Castro on drums.
Tracks like NO ESTOY and NO RECORDARAS well integrate the lessons taught by the great masters Black Sabbath, the heaviness of the sound and the obsessiveness of the rhythm are trance-like. In FASTIDIO the distortion of the guitars takes on almost unnatural features as well as in the title track SOMOS LA NOCHE which, however, features a more captivating Rock n 'Roll mood and which in some situations also recalls the never too honoured Type O' Negative. Slower, melodic, and malignant is the instrumental INTERLUDIO which introduces the dark CERO EN CONDUCTA, where the rhythm section is impressive in terms of precision and the head banging is a must due to a crazy mid-tempo and a Matias still at his top! A hypnotic guitar intro starts INFIERNO VERDE which then accelerates towards more Metal sounds and then sinks again into a Doom so dense that not even a single ray of light is able to pass through.
The splendid and evocative EL FINAL and EL SENDERO, an incredibly magical and occult suite of almost seven minutes, close an album to be surely well considered among the recent Stoner/Doom releases. Inferous with this album are candidates as one of the best new expressions of the genre who now in his new youth seems to know no geographical boundaries anymore.

Il debut full-lenght Somos la Noche degli argentini Inferous è una vera e propria bomba Doom/Stoner! La lingua spagnola utilizzata nel cantato si abbina perfettamente al sound oscuro, pesante e oppressivo proposto dalla band di Rosario che sorprende per capacità tecnica e ispirazione. La voce catacombale di Matias Vodas (anche bassista) bene si sposa con il sulfureo sound costruito da Belisario Gronda alle chitarre e Seba Castro alla batteria.
Pezzi come NO ESTOY e NO RECORDARAS bene assimilano la lezione impartita dai grandi maestri Black Sabbath, la pesantezza del sound e l’ossessività del ritmo sono da trance. In FASTIDIO la distorsione delle chitarre assume caratteristiche quasi innaturali come anche nella title track SOMOS LA NOCHE in cui però si affaccia un mood Rock n’ Roll maggiormente accattivante e che in alcuni frangenti ricorda anche i mai troppo omaggiati Type O’ Negative. Più lenta, melodica e maligna la strumentale INTERLUDIO che introduce alla nera CERO EN CONDUCTA, dove la sezione ritmica è impressionante per precisione e l’head banging d’obbligo a causa di un mid tempo pazzesco ed un Matias ancora sugli scudi! Un’ipnotica intro di chitarra dà inizio a INFIERNO VERDE che accelera successivamente verso lidi più Metal per poi sprofondare ancora verso un Doom tanto denso da non far passare nemmeno un raggio di luce.
Le splendide ed evocative EL FINAL ed EL SENDERO, incredibilmente magica e occulta suite di quasi sette minuti, chiudono un album da tenere fortemente in considerazione tra le recenti uscite Stoner/Doom. Gli Inferous con questo album si candidano come una delle migliori nuove leve del genere che ormai nella sua nuova giovinezza sembra non conoscere più alcun confine geografico.
