The spasmodic wait for the forerunner single of Ten (upcoming new work by the kings of horror metal) is unexpectedly and abruptly interrupted by the announcement of ZORA by the Cursed Coven (historic fan club of the band) in the afternoon that preempts the second (and splendid) performance by Deathless Legacy + Steve Sylvester to support the 7” "Legion of The Night", released a few months ago.
Among the lucky few to grab one of the 20 copies available in the evening, with emotion we throw ourselves to admire the cover depicting the Vampire Steve wrapped in a black cloak overlooking a grateful Vampira Zora, whose appearance is that of the gorgeous Dhalila (mythical performer and stable band's member). The flames in the background emphasize the crystalline beauty of this artwork to be considered a real pieace of art.
In ZORA a sulphurous melody introduces Al's always inspired guitar capable of driving a full sound, paving the way to Steve's charismatic and biting voice that flows into a crazy refrain with a very Rock mood that remains in mind from the very first listen and which I believe will accompany us in the (hopefully many) future Kings of Evil shows. In the second part of the track a persuasive and captivating female voice leads to dreamlike atmospheres while the crazy guitar solo reiterates the rock soul of this piece. Zora, composed by Steve together with Andy Panigada (friend and regular partner of Death SS), is a magnificent work whose destiny will be to make us sing extremely loud and which, in my opinion, will become a band's classic.
Side B of the 7" is AFTERLIFE, a more atmospheric track that will remain published only on this single, signed by Steve and Freddy and hinged on a melody that to define fantastic is an just an understatement. Freddy's hand can be clearly heard while Steve's voice is sublime, enchanting and enveloping. The refrain is as stunning as the guitar solos. If the piece won't be published on another support, to have this version of Zora will become absolutely a MUST.
Walking this path, we have no doubt that Ten can easily aspire to perfection! Welcome back Heavy Demons!

La spasmodica attesa per il singolo apripista di Ten (nuovo lavoro dei re dell’horror metal) viene inaspettatamente e bruscamente interrotta dall’annuncio di ZORA da parte del Cursed Coven (storico fan club della band) nel pomeriggio che anticipa la seconda (nonchè splendida) performance dei Deathless Legacy + Steve Sylvester a promozione del 7” "Legion of The Night", uscito qualche mese fa.
Tra i pochi fortunati ad accaparrarsi una delle 20 copie disponibili nella serata, con emozione ci catapultiamo ad ammirare la copertina raffigurante il Vampiro Steve avvolto da un mantello nero che sovrasta una riconoscente Vampira Zora, il cui aspetto è riconducibile alla splendida Dhalila (mitica performer e membro stabile del gruppo). Le fiamme nello sfondo non fanno altro che accentuare la bellezza cristallina di questo artwork da considerarsi una vera e propria opera d’arte.
In ZORA una sulfurea melodia introduce la sempre ispirata chitarra di Al capace di guidare un sound pieno, fungendo da varco per la carismatica e graffiante voce di Steve che sfocia in un refrain pazzesco dal mood molto Rock memorizzabile già al primo ascolto e che credo ci accompagnerà nei (speriamo tanti) futuri shows dei Kings of Evil. Nella seconda parte della traccia una suadente e accattivante voce femminile porta ad atmosfere quasi oniriche mentre il pazzesco assolo di chitarra ribadisce l’anima rock del pezzo. Zora, alla cui scrittura oltre a Steve compartecipa Andy Panigada (amico e ormai assiduo collaboratore dei Death SS), è un’opera magnifica il cui destino unico sarà quello di farci cantare a squarciagola e che diventerà a mio parere un classico dalla band.
Lato B del 7” è AFTERLIFE, traccia più atmosferica che rimarrà pubblicata solo su questo singolo, firmata da Steve e Freddy ed imperniata su una melodia che definire fantastica e’ dir poco. La mano di Freddy si sente eccome mentre la voce di Steve è sublime, incantevole ed avvolgente. Il refrain è stupefacente come gli assoli di chitarra. Se veramente il pezzo non dovesse essere pubblicato su altro supporto occorrerà a prescindere da tutto far proprio questo Zora.
Continuando su questa scia non abbiamo molti dubbi che Ten potrà tranquillamente ambire alla lode! Bentornati Heavy Demons!
