Following the excellent Something Weird as of 2016, filled with collaborations with artists of great substance such as Enrico Ruggeri, Steve Sylvester and Tony Dolan, The Mugshots by Mickey E. Vil release this new 12" containing two tracks of pure Dark Goth Rock such as "Children of the night" feturing the special guest Mantas of Venom Inc. and "The Call" which sees the great Attila Csihar (Mayhem, Tormentor) as guest.
THE CALL goes really strong, Mickey's Goth vocals appear very suggestive and evocative, the dark atmosphere almost seems to come closer to a pure Black Metal and, in a certain sense, it recalls and anticipates the intervention of the master Attila Csihar who, through his speech part, is able to make the mood even more horror. The track is very catchy in its entirety, voice and instruments mix and merge in a dark and exciting mood, thus creating a satisfying and enjoyable result.
CHILDREN OF THE NIGHT, with its very inspired keyboards, releases a remarkable horrific load. The refrain is very catchy and has the merit of remaining in mind only after a few listenings; Mantas' guitar solo in the final part turns out to be high-class and very fascinating. The Mugshots' goth and dark Rock imprint is clear and recognizable in every single note of the song.
With this appetizer of the next full length by the Italian band, we can wait with extreme confidence and certainty for the new great work. Mickey E. Vil has hit the target, and this 12" is an opportunity not to be missed especially for lovers of certain atmospheres and sounds.

Dopo l’ottimo Something Weird del 2016, in cui figuravano collaborazioni con artisti di immenso spessore come Enrico Ruggeri, Steve Sylvester e Tony Dolan, i The Mugshots di Mickey E. Vil danno alle stampe il nuovo 12" contenente due tracce di puro Dark Goth Rock quali “Children of the night” con lo special guest Mantas dei Venom Inc. e “The Call” che vede invece come special guest il grande Attila Csihar (Mayhem, Tormentor).
THE CALL ha un tiro pazzesco, la voce goth di Mickey appare molto suggestiva ed evocativa, l’atmosfera dark sembra in certi momenti quasi avvicinarsi a quella del puro Black Metal ed in un certo senso richiama ed anticipa l’intervento del maestro Attila Csihar che con il suo parlato rende il mood ancora più horror. La traccia risulta molto orecchiabile nel suo complesso, voce e strumenti si miscelano e fondono in un mood oscuro ed entusiasmante, creando così un risultato soddisfacente e apprezzabile.
CHILDREN OF THE NIGHT, con le sue ispiratissime tastiere, sprigiona una carica orrorifica notevole. Il refrain è molto orecchiabile ed ha il merito di rimanere impresso solo dopo pochi ascolti; l’assolo di chitarra di Mantas nella parte finale risulta essere di alta classe e molto ispirato. L’impronta goth e dark rock dei The Mugshots si sente ed è identificabile in ogni singola nota della canzone.
Se questo è l’antipasto del prossimo full lenght della band bresciana non possiamo che attendere con estrema fiducia e convinzione il suo nuovo grande lavoro. Mickey E. Vil ha centrato il bersaglio, e questo 12" è un occasione da non farsi sfuggire soprattutto per gli amanti di certe atmosfere e sonorità.
